A mosaic required by Japanese law
Asian lesbian porn divides along language lines: Japanese releases, known as JAV, follow one set of rules, and English-language productions with Asian American and Thai performers follow another. Japanese law requires a mosaic over the genitals in anything sold in Japan, so JAV lesbian scenes carry a pixelated patch over them.
Tatami rooms and office scripts
Japanese lesbian scripts borrow settings from daily life: an office with senior and junior colleagues, a hot-spring inn with cotton yukata robes. Cosplay is another Japanese style, with anime wigs and costumes kept on. Because the mosaic hides the genitals, the camera stays closest on faces, mouths and hands. Office setups lean on workplace seduction, and jukujo, Japanese for a mature woman, names the MILF pairing in JAV.
English dialogue without the blur
English-language Asian lesbian scenes drop the mosaic and pair Asian performers with partners from other backgrounds, as in interracial pairings. A traditional Japanese bedroom has a futon on tatami instead of a raised bed, so JAV sex stays low, with knees on the mats.
